Direction: Mallorca.

@

My favorite way to spend the day in Mallorca
Palma - Valldemossa - Deia - Soller - Puro Beach
Well, because you asked.

And we’re off… Pass through fields of Almond and Olive trees as you head towards Valldemossa, a charming village in the Northwest of Mallorca with ancient monasteries, Chopin’s piano and tiered fields of stone-houses. As you leave Palma, the elevation increases, offering otherworldly views as the cobalt sky fades into the ocean below. Explore the tiny town of Valldemossa before heading along the coast towards Deia and Soller. Steep cobbled streets, dusty, winding tracks down towards the sea. Pitstop for lunch at one of the seaside stops - don’t worry, you’ll be stopped by the smell of olive oil and tapas. Do a model quick-change at Puro Hotel before ending your day at Puro Beach, where the crowd will be as beautiful as your day was.

Manic Monday - Version 1.0

!

Ready. Steady. Spain. Miles of sunflowers, not so easy Easy Jet, off the path islands, a hefty amount of ham (don’t tell my rabbi) and a whole lot of house. Weekend recap from start to finish…go!

Stay. Marques de Riscal.
Friday. 10 PM.

As I arrive at Marques des Riscal hotel, the quiet of night descends upon Elciego, a small town in the Rioja region. But even under the wash of night, it’s clear that this isn’t your average hotel. Designed by renowned architect Frank O. Gehry, Marques des Riscal is a sensory experience. The architecture brags, the Baccarat stemware chimes, the avant-garde culinary creations stews…  It’s a clash of titans here, so keep your eyes, ears and taste buds peeled… and some serious sipping.

BUNOL, SPAIN - AUGUST 25: Revellers pelt each other with tomatoes during the world’s biggest tomato fight at La Tomatina festival on August 25, 2010 in Bunol, Spain. More than 45000 people from all over the world descended on the small Valencian town to participate in this year’s La Tomatina festival, with the local town hall estimating that over 100 tons of rotten and over-ripe tomatoes were thrown. Pause.

!

As I flew back from Ibiza to New York on Sunday, the beloved area of Benirras Beach was devastated by forest fires, which have continued to burn for the past three days, across 800 acres of land.

Up to 1500 people have been evacuated from the area, many taken by volunteers to the port of San Miguel as they left the scene. Pause for a moment for those in need of help and guidance, and for the free-spirited vibe that made Benirras a truly unique place. For more information check out White Escapes live updates; For volunteer or donation information check out The Ibiza Preservation Fund.

Top 10 Thursday: Ibiza - Part Deux

#

My first post on Jetset Farryn had to be good, so I spoon fed you my Top 5 favorite things to do in one of my favorite places. This time, I’ve teamed up with Miss W from @White Ibiza to give you a killer guide (if I may say so myself) to the crazy isle they call Ibiza.

Hit the High Seas.
Charter a luxury yacht and head for the neighboring island of Formentera, the place to see and be seen at beachside restaurants and cruising around the coast.

Frock Up in Style.
Flex the plastic and indulge in some retail therapy, Ibiza-style. Ibiza’s very own designer label, Kurru Kurru, makes bespoke disco dresses, spangly bikinis and full-blown couture creations perfect for a week on the white isle.

Dine Alfresco.
There’s no better atmosphere than the magical garden restaurant space at Aura for dining on modern tapas under the stars, with the smell of thousands of jasmine blossoms permeating the air, seven nights a week.

Take a Chill Pill.
The Ibiza Gran’s Open Spa is among the island’s best relaxation havens, boasting hydrotherapy and a sports pool, sauna and hammam, plus the world’s finest therapists on hand to soothe the aches and pains caused by a day by the pool.

Sit Down.

?

A Moment with Eric Morillo

IntoTheSpotlight caught up with him to discuss his career and his new projects… and I’ll be catching up with him live, tomorrow at @Pacha Ibiza. So listen up….

For over a decade now, Erick Morillo has remained one of the most in-demand and instantly recognisable DJs in the world. From the instant success of his weekly ‘Sessions’ parties in New York, to his coveted residency at Ministry of Sound (he’s still one of the only American DJs to ever hold one) and of course his now legendary Subliminal Sessions parties at Pacha, Ibiza, he now celebrates his 13th historic season at the club in 2010.

Erick, obviously your biggest hit was ‘I Like To Move It’ - what impact has that record had on your career?

Follow (Me) Friday

!

I’m on the road in Spain, so we’re doing things a bit different this week. Take a trip from Madrid to Elciego… After all, what kind of bad blogger would I be, if I didn’t take you with me? Follow it, don’t judge it.

Road. Madrid to Elciego.

Time: 3 Hours, 48 Minutes.
Driver: Duh, me.
Passengers: @Kirakaplan & @Teeter

Step 1. Leave the airport (with two girls in tow).
Step 2. Get the embarrassingly automatic car (what can I say, I’m from Miami.)
Step 3. Hit the road towards the medieval town of Elciego in Northern Spain. This is Basque Country, where limestone mountain ranges and chamomile valleys whisper a story of a vibrant culture and great history. It’s a place where family recipes and traditions are passed down from one generation to the next; where food is King and wine… well she’s the Queen.

Follow Friday: Party Circuit

!

I warned you… there was a surprise in store. And with partying on my mind (there, I said it), there’s nothing I’d rather do than share it with you. Starting today, we’re featuring four of my favorite places to let loose, and giving one lucky member $250 towards their next wild getaway.

Whats the catch?
Register to become a Jetsetter member and re tweet me on twitter for your chance to win $250 credit to play with. There may even be some more treats in store!

Ibiza Gran. Baleric Islands.

There’s nowhere better to be in the summer than Ibiza. The Balearic Island is known for its stone-studded beaches and celeb-studded scene. Located a ferry hop from Barcelona, Ibiza’s all-star DJ lineup hits its zenith in August. Hear the world’s best DJ’s spin in their natural habitat as 10,000 people bounce to the beat at Amensia or Pacha, two of my favorite clubs in the world. You haven’t danced till’ you’ve danced in Ibiza and we’ve partnered with White Ibiza to give you the info you need to get down and dirty. Need a reservation or a tip, @White Ibiza and resident blogger Miss W have got you covered.

Tcherassi Hotel. Cartagena, Colombia.

I love the sexiness of Cartagena; it’s got the old-world charm of Havana and the sophistication of Buenos Aires. You go to Cartagena for the balmy climate, spectacular sunsets and of course, salsa music. And, the sultry colonial city in Colombia is only a 2 ½ hour flight from Miami.
