It’s been a wild month. Between Bonnaroo and July 4th, I’ve barely had a moment to catch my breath. And then, these past few weeks have been all about losing it again with inspiring pop-up tech and the Jersey Shore. Ready, steady… go. It’s Manic Monday, summer-style.

You’re probably sick of hearing about it but… Jetsetter partnered again with our friends at Vice Magazine to give away two tickets to the Creators Project London. For those out-of-the-know, The Creators Project is a partnership between Intel and Vice Magazine that self-describes as,”a new network dedicated to the celebration of creativity and culture across media, and around the world.” The New York event kicked off a series of five Creators Project events around the world with stops in London, Sao Paulo, Seoul, and ending with a three-day grand finale in Beijing. Each stop features performances, screenings, and exhibits highlighting the fusion of technology and creativity.Check out my video of the New York exhibit and check back soon… we may or may not be sending one lucky fan to Rio (wink).

Ok, I’ll admit it. I was trying for Clinton Street Bakery, but with a three-hour wait, I had to search for an alternate. Enter Back Forty - a sustainably minded spot on Avenue B where a seasonal cocktail or dish isn’t as boring as it may sound.  Grab a spot at the twelve-seat bar or one of the communal wooden tables where you can annoy your neighbor with questions about their order (I totally did not do that). Order the Pork Jowl Nuggets with Jalapeno Jam (just don’t try getting a side of Jam, they negged me on that one) and Poached Eggs with Whitebean Ragout on Toast. But the real ticket is the Chicken with Waffles. Don’t skimp on the syrup.

Note: En-route to Back Forty, stop at one of the many small gardens in the area. Be sure to dance like a weirdo… it’s a great way to wake up.

There is nothing more universal than soccer and a smile, and in most cases, the two go hand-in-hand… except for when the U.S is falling behind in fourth minute. Luckily, they redeemed themselves fast with a goal – marking the third-straight World Cup where the opening game featured one within five minutes. For those who could tear themselves away from the tunes, ‘Roo broadcasted the games at the Lunar Stage and for a little bit, it actually felt like we were a part of it. And then I remembered my cancelled plane ticket… and 4 leftover semi-finals tickets… and depression sank in.

Weekend recap from start to finish… go!

Sometimes a weekend just won’t cut it.

Dinner. Momofuku Fried Chicken.
Wednesday. 7 PM.

I ain’t no chicken when it comes to food. But after testing my limits at Ko, a treat was in order. And what’s better than one brought to you by David Chang. Momofuku Noodle Bar is as minimalist as the rest of the restos, with blonde wood stools and booths ready for the taking. Show some self control and don’t order much before the main event - but if you must, opt for the pork buns, roasted foie gras and cornflake encrusted brisket.  And then there was chicken - the southern style infused with old bay seasoning and the less-heavy triple-fried Korean chicken in bibim sauce. Expect pancakes, a bowl of veggies (shisito peppers, baby carrots, red ball radishes, shiso leaves, bibb lettuce, opal basil, Thai basil) and four sauces on the side (hoisin, ginger-scallion, jalapeño-garlic, and bibim).

Use your hands, combine it all, get weird with your bad self. Chang’s personal favorite? Crisp skin from the classic chicken, chunks of meat, bibb lettuce, both kinds of shiso, hoisin sauce, and ginger-scallion sauce. De-lish.

Something about summer screams seafood. And after the long drive from the city, East End Clambake is the perfect pit stop. Stock up on classics like lobster salad, steamed mussels, littleneck clams and calamari. Makes sure to snack on the famous Lobster Roll or Seared Tuna with wasabi mayo. With clients ranging from Sony Music to Oprah, you can’t go wrong. Don’t let the modest appearance fool you - with Captain Phil Gay (and ex commercial clamdigger) at the helm, you’re sure to get the freshest fishes in the sea. If only I could say the same thing about Dune.

With friends at the door, dj booth and behind the scenes, Dune Nightclub can feel more like my high school prom than a seasonal hotspot. But that doesn’t  mean it’s not one of the best places to head out when heading out East. Located in the former Cain/Jet East space, Dune has managed to mix its old sexy-surfer vibe (though we do miss the old Tarzan ropes) with a new city-chic design that highlights the DJ Booth in the main lounge. And it should. Dune hosts some primetimers like @JusSke, @PeteTong and @DJBerrie and fan favorites like @DJTannerNYC and DJ NickCohen who spun some serious skills this past weekend.

@SchwartzJon and the peeps behind Marquee have slipped some staying power into the booze because despite RDV and Lillypond being on the nightlife radar, Duners stick to what they know. And rumor has it that Jason Derulo and Juliette Lewis may perform in the parking lot this summer. Now thats my kind of party.

Since its introduction into the New York food scene, Momofuku Ko has brought both a feeling of fear and exhiliaration to my otherwise settled stomach. T-Minus 24 Hours: Mental preparation begins. T-Minus 12 Hours: Starvation. T-Minus 0 Hours: Show. No. Fear.  It’s all just preparation for the Amazing Race.

At some point, many moons ago, I was just an odd girl, obsessed with an obscure Sri Lankin rap artist. Now, I’m still an odd girl, but my feverish love for M.I.A. is socially acceptable. M.I.A, also known as Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam is a british songwriter, producer, rapper, designer, artist, activist and rapper known for pushing the limits. She came out of the shadows in 2009 with her hit “Paper Planes” and was named as one of the World’s Most Influential people by Time Magazine. M.I.A got me through my deep, dark, artistic days with songs like Amazon, Fire Fire and Bucky Done Gun. Now, she’s repping major TV networks with her ‘fan favorites’. M.I.A., oh how you’ve grown.

Thursday. 10 PM.

For Trump to trump himself is a pretty hard feat. But with the opening of Trump Soho he’s managed to lur in a new kind of crowd, one sans the Birkin Bags and mini-pooch pups. Kastel Lounge, the masculine, dramatic and ultra sexy hotel lounge, oozes with confidence. Fendi furniture meets Taschen books amidst club kids and restaurant-goers, ready for a night out on the town. Just don’t get lost in the crowd because its a hot one.

Anything that pops is a good thing. You never know what to expect. And in the case of a pop-up resto, you can usually anticipate an excited crowd, a unique ambiance and of course, above all else, delicious food. The brainchild of Top Chef alum Camille Becerra and hospitality gurus Alan Philips and Josh Shames of SKY Group, The Hunger is series of pop-up, themed concept restaurants kicking off in NYC. We sat down for “Urban Cuisine Bourgeois” - a take on French style cooking that gets back to the basics.  Candlelight shined throughout the wine cellar of Grotto Azzurra, while a French-pop mix programmed by DJ Nick Cohen helped set the mood. And the mood it was… was hungry. Pop in the Pop Up here.

Friday. 11 PM.

It doesn’t take much to get me to a concert. It also doesn’t take much to get me to a museum. The I-should’ve-been-an-archeologist in me squealed at the chance to see Passion Pit this Friday at The American Museum of Natural History Planetarium. They took to the stage complemented by a space-age-spectacular light show by Feuvoz. The inaugural event in a series called “One Step Beyond,” the Rose Center for Earth and Space came close to transforming into a dome at Ultra…. c.l.o.s.e. The venue proved to be out of this world, but the one bar situation really got on my nerves.
