It’s no secret that I don’t take my tweets too seriously, but it is something I am proud of. As a self-inflicted social-media-ite, it’s a honor to be nominated for a Shorty Award in Travel. Here are some reasons why you should vote, or not vote for me, after all, it’s all about democracy. Go…

What’s your best tweet?
A nude photo of me… just kidding (or am I?)
What are six things you could never do without?
Planes. Trains. Automobiles. Bicycles. Boats. Hovercraft.
Why’d you start tweeting?
I couldn’t keep all these travels to myself.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Yes… Because I have over five thousand, awesome, smart, witty, brilliant, welcoming, supportive, hilarious, terse new friends.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Be themselves. You’re weird, and that’s cool. Go with it.
How will the world change in the next year?
Offline is the new online.
What feature should Twitter add?
I’d like them to hire me before I answer this question…
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn’t?
My grandma. She rocks an iPad though.
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
Because. Oh and also, circumbilivagination.
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn’t already? If so, who?
Tyler Brûlé. Hey you.
What inspires you to tweet?
Sharing the world with the world.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Just tweet it.
Why should people follow you?
I make fun of myself all of the time… oh, and the nude pictures, duh. Also, I love what I do, and I hope that passion is contagious.
Why should we vote for you?
I chill in tents in Pakistan, dance on tables in Ibiza, hike badass Volcanoes, sleep in the Amazon, pray in India. Then I tell you about it.
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
#Brilldotcom
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
#Brilldotcom… stemming from the latin word, Brilliant.
How do you make your tweets unique?
I’m simply myself… take it or tweet it.

And being part DJ/part badass business man isn’t one of them…
I wear the same thing everyday (I own a lot of black t-shirts)
I dj-ed a wedding or bar mitzvah every weekend of my life from age 13-17
and Snoop Dogg performed at one of them
I turned down a job at a big record label to start my own
I wish I could spin all disco at every gig
My best friend is my manager
He probably would’ve liked to have some input on these 15 things. Oh well.
We have our own company, Super Music Group (of which Farryn is a groupie)
My favorite producer right now (besides Amtrac) is Louis La Roche
I love coffee. Hit me with that TRENTA
I’m a total nerd. Send me your spreadsheets and Powerpoints. I will proofread
Also on the nerd thing, I watch a lot of political news. Meet The F**king Press.
I’m obsessed with the Beatles
and food…
Super Music Group is accepting submissions, so send your ish submit2smg@gmail.com
I dare you not to be obsessed with Derek’s latest mixtape, Volume 5. And I promise, it has nothing to do with the fact that Austyntatious created the artwork above. What can I say? We keep it in the fam. Like the Jacksons.

Fresh out the frying pan into the fire, Alesso strolled into Capitale this past Friday like a full-blown rock star. And while his mentor-slash-collaborator Sebastian Ingrosso may in fact be the closest thing to Mick Jagger this side of 1976, Alesso is just barely scratching the idol-surface. He scored an Essential New Tune on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio One show with his debut track during Miami Music Week and secured a second on-air play with his remix of Swedish House Mafia’s “Save the World”. Now, he’s the kid-heard-round-the-world with “Calling” and playing to topped-out tents at big festivals like Electric Zoo. This past weekend I chatted with the cutie over club soda, virgin club soda, and here’s what he had to say for himself….
JetsetFarryn: Do you sing in the shower?
Alesso: Yes, ha, sometimes.
JetsetFarryn: What’s one thing you won’t leave home without?
Alesso: My phone, wallet and computer.
JetsetFarryn: If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be?
Alesso: I would turn all of the negative in the world into positive. There’d be no hate, just love.

DJ Woooo is a he. He is located in the Northeast, and splits his time between NYC and a rural town in New England. He works for startups in NYC developing mobile apps. He is the godfather of Turntable.fm aka the worlds #1 virtual DJ. He has over 1000 fans. He’s not into twitter, or soundcloud, although @NoPattern (the designer of Kaskade’s Dynasty album) supplied him with a killer avatar. He is not a music snob - he hopes to host Steve Aoki in his infamous turntable room and he loves a good Kid Cudi track. He was supposed to spend today on a boat, but opted to answer my questions instead. He is a gentlemen, both in and out of the booth and maybe I have a chat-room crush. And his name is Ethan. And he might be sitting next to me….. here’s my day with the Woooo (special thanks to all of those avatars who partook in the interview)

“Whatever we present has a high aesthetic value, is made well, is quality, is something you want, but at the same time has a very meaningful sustainable element to it,” says actor Adrian Grenier. He’s talking about his burgeoning web business SHFT, but he might as well be talking about our eco-friendly Jetsetter hotels. In fact, Grenier and his SHFT partner, film producer Peter Glatzer, curated a collection of eco-conscious escapes around the same principles that guide them at SHFT, where they publish articles about everything from fully electric motorcycles to furniture made of reclaimed wood to recipes. They call it “curating the culture of today’s environment.” We call it great taste with a low carbon-footprint. Fresh off the heels of two Webby wins and a major sale on GILT, I chatted with Peter and Adrian about how to live life, the SHFT way…

Jetset Farryn: So you two are quite the duo? How did you find each other?
Peter: We met through a very good mutual friend who wound up designing the website.
JSF: I’m guessing concern for the environment was part of that connection. Have you always been interested in environmental issues?
Adrian: We bonded on several things when we first met. We were both personally concerned about environmental issues and were raised to be conscious about it. But what we agreed on was that the focus of SHFT needed to be on solutions. The doom and gloom and fear-based preachiness surrounding environmental issues is a turn-off.

Lauren Bush is an Elite Model, a Princeton graduate, a photographer, and a kick-boxer. She has appeared on Friends, been named one of the World’s Sexiest Vegetarians (pretty uncommon for a born-and-bred Texan) and made it on Vogue’s best dressed list (twice). She is the niece of President George W. Bush and granddaughter of George H. W. Bush, and the soon-to-be wife of David Lauren (son of Ralph Lauren). And yet, the most impressive fact about this dynamic 26-year-old is her work traveling the world to find ways to help address huge and important hunger and nutrition crises, through what she knows best — fashion.
In 2007, Lauren Bush launched FEED Projects in conjunction with the UN World Food Program. Her signature FEED bag, a stylish carryall whose proceeds pay to feed one child, for one school year, is now known worldwide as a symbol of hope, love and philanthropy. In honor of Earth Day, I sat down with the CEO, Creative Director and co-Founder of FEED to discuss the epidemic of world hunger, her love of local markets and how to find a bit of the Lauren Bush magic in your own life… and check out Lauren’s favorite Good and Green Hotels now on Jetsetter.

JetsetFarryn: Your work has been so inspired by your travel experiences. Is there one moment that stands out as truly transformational?
Every trip, I feel like I have another moment. And it’s not always about the trip but also about thinking through things after. But, the first trip I took to Guatemala with the UN Word Food Program was really an eye-opening experience.

Kaskade. He’s incredibly handsome, humble and having one hell of a year. He has performed in front of cult-like fans at every festival from Bonnaroo to Electric Zoo, and his latest album, Dynasty, took out Justin Bieber as #1 in the iTunes charts. He’s collaborating with Will.i.am for an anti-drug PSA and is 100% Snookie approved. Yet he’s still amazed that “really hot model types and famous people are into house music now.”
If you know me at all, you know that my Kaskade obsession runs far beyond his fairytale, feminine sound. Let’s just say his Monkey-loving’ tweets and 12-track journey of love have single handedly helped me (and thousands of others) “Start Again.” Just days away from his performance at Pacha’s Five Year Anniversary in NYC, I sat down with the oh-so-delicious DJ to discuss Tokyo, The Cure and why Electronic Dance Music is here to stay. Be sure to catch Kaskade (or my minute-to-minute coverage of him) at Pacha, this Saturday night.
@JetsetFarryn: Truthfully, a lot of people have been asking me this, and maybe you can help set the record straight… What’s the difference between house/trance music? The short answer…
@Kaskade: Trance is very synthetic and the tempo is fast. House is more organic and it has more of a shuffle or swing to it. That is over simplifying it but you get the idea.
Well, what genre do you consider your music to fall under? Not to put you in a box or anything…
I use elements from everything including house and trance but if I had to choose my music leans way more to the house side of things.
Your music is a bit different than some of the big name acts in EDM right now… where did you first find your unique sound?
While living in San Francisco I was inspired by the local deep house scene there. It really made me realize that it was not about the genre but more about the actual song and what was being said in the music.
As a kid, who inspired you? And who is inspiring you now….
When I was young I was really into a lot of the new wave stuff like The Smiths, The Cure and New Order. Right now I am really feeling Dan Black, Dragonette and The Killers.
Did you have that “ah ha” moment of wanting to become a DJ?
K: I never really had that moment. It feels like I have always kind of done music in some sort of fashion. But I do remember when I got paid for my first show and I felt like I had tricked the promoter cause I would have played for free.
JSF: That’s exactly how I feel about my job (don’t tell Jetsetter)
What about the lifestyle? It’s certainly different than a 9 to 5 desk job. What’s the best part of it (the lifestyle) and the worst?
I am able to travel the world and meet interesting people that love music as much as I do. The worst part of that is I spend a lot of time in crappy airports and planes. But I don’t have anything to complain about.
You’re always on the road… but where do you consider home?
This is a good question and one I think about a lot. I recently moved to Southern California from San Francisco but since I have been on the road I have spent little time there and it does not feel like home yet although that is where my mail is delivered. Right now San Francisco still feels like home.
And do you have a “home away from home”?
Chicago is where I was born and raised so I always feel like I am home when I am there.
I asked Armin Van Buuren this same question because it’s certainly top of mind for many right now… In the last year, house music has become increasingly popular in the US. For example, Bonnaroo added a lunar tent (amazing set by the way) to accommodate for the growing desire for music of this kind. Why do you feel like EDM is currently trending?
Yes we are finally having our moment! Finally it seems like everyone is ready to hear the music. I think this is happening because sonically this is the most interesting thing happening on the musical landscape right now. The true innovation is happening in this genre and it is impossible to ignore.
This was your second year at Electric Zoo, what was different this year? And what do you hope to see next year?
It was so much bigger and better this year! Everything from the crowds to the intensity of the production was amped up 10 times. I loved it! Next year I want it even bigger and louder!

Armin Van Buuren, Dutch trance producer and the world’s #1 DJ, is taking it stateside on September 5th as the headliner for @ElectricZoo, New York’s premier electronic music festival.
He won’t just be stopping by. After months of hard work and creativity, Armin will be celebrating the release of his fourth album, Mirage, set to drop on September 14th. Inspired and influenced by many different types of music, Mirage is a more mature and diverse AVB creation than ever before.
“Work started two years ago when I actually built a completely new studio for this project,” Van Buuren said. “Many new techniques were used and most of all I had so much fun creating this with the many people that are involved. It was a journey, an epic one!”
The album is filled with musical fusions and surprising interpretations, from the orchestral masterpiece of title track “Mirage”, to the deep trance track “I Don’t Own You” and to the eerie “Take A Moment” and feel-good “Drowning”.
The euphoric single “Not Giving Up on Love” is currently scorching across the summer festival terrain. Van Buuren collaborated with singer/songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor and lyrical duo The Nervo sisters to produce the sweet, synth track.

A Moment with Eric Morillo
IntoTheSpotlight caught up with him to discuss his career and his new projects… and I’ll be catching up with him live, tomorrow at @Pacha Ibiza. So listen up….
For over a decade now, Erick Morillo has remained one of the most in-demand and instantly recognisable DJs in the world. From the instant success of his weekly ‘Sessions’ parties in New York, to his coveted residency at Ministry of Sound (he’s still one of the only American DJs to ever hold one) and of course his now legendary Subliminal Sessions parties at Pacha, Ibiza, he now celebrates his 13th historic season at the club in 2010.
Erick, obviously your biggest hit was ‘I Like To Move It’ - what impact has that record had on your career?
