Weekend recap from start to finish…. go!
Creative costumes, one big ol’ dead mouse and candy…everywhere

@Fuerza Bruta Halloween Bash.

Thursday. 10 PM.

@Jetsetter, I’d only wear a crown for you…. let alone the crown of a cheesy port city pageant girl. Oh yeah, you heard me…. a pageant girl. But there’s one thing that wasn’t up for debate on Thursday, and that was Gilt Groupe ability to throw an amazing party. Fuerza Bruta was the perfect spot to start the spooky weekend off… clearly we had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad time.

To the @Jetsetterdotcom and @GiltGroupe halloween bash! RT @AWRadventures: @jetsetfarryn Thanks for the mention! Where are you heading next?

Top 5 Thursday: Halloween Haunts

It’s the high holy day of Halloween and here’s the Top 5 ways to spend the weird weekend. Or just spend the weekend getting weird….

Thursday. Deadmau5 Trifecta & “Unhooked”
Kick off the holiest of holidays with a religious experience. Recently profiled with a feature in Rolling Stone’s “Hot List” issue, @Deadmau5 will make his last North American appearances this year with three shows at Roseland Ballroom (October 28, 29 & 30). The first two nights of his ‘Trifecta’ shows will feature the famous festival set with Q-Tip, Busta Rhymes, Erol Alkan, Afrojack and JDH & Dave P (we hear Die Antwood too!). The final night - “Unhooked” - will feature calm and collected collaborator @Kaskade with Calvin Harris, Pete Tong and Sleepy & Boo.
Doors open at 8 pm

Manic Monday - Version 1.0

! WWeekend recap, from start to finish. Coachella style. Go.

Coachella 2010 reached a new level of artistry. It blended art, music and sub-cultures like any good festival should. And turned me into a lover of the DoLab, Spicy Pizza, Kaskade’s props, The XX & grassy knolls.

Wake Up. Preparations.

10:00 AM. Friday

Ticket Wrangling.
12:30 AM. Friday

Ran into @IgluandHartly while trying to score some extra tickets.
I missed their show, but heard it rocked.
Add “DayGlo” to your Coachella mix, it’s a new favorite.

And yes, they’re this hot in person too.

DIALOGUE. @IgluandHartly:

@Coachella was fucking ridiculously awesome! we had a blast thanks for coming out to see us! IGLU AND HARTLY FOR… http://fb.me/vmLbUUHX

Arrival.

6:00 PM. Friday

Passion Pit.
7:00 PM. Friday

@PassionPit stole the crowd at the outdoor stage with fan favorites like “Sleepyhead” and “The Reeling”. I thought it lacked a bit of energy, and the sound was way too low. Regardless, it was their first performance of this size and they didn’t disappoint.

La Roux.

8:20 PM. Friday

Coachella really didn’t anticipate the crowd at La Roux. Mistake #1, putting them in the smaller, Gobi tent. #2, putting them in a tent, period. Girls from all corners flocked to hear “Bulletproof” and “I’m not your toy”. To be honest, I couldn’t see a thing, but it sounded exactly like the record - and that’s a good thing. I would’ve loved a remix of “I’m not your toy”, maybe next time.

DIALOGUE. @LaRoux:

@COACHELLA was INCREDIBLE!!!! thank you sooo much to everyone who came and supported us, we had such a great show €llyx

Imogen Heap.
9:20 PM. Friday

Imogen Heap was never on my schedule. But a break was in order so we vibed out at the Mojave stage and caught her act. Wearing a silver-sequined dress, she jumped from piano to electric keyboard to the drums and then the cymbals. She was a bit all over the place (see her own tweets) but the crowd ate up “Headlock” and “Just for Now.”

DIALOGUE. @Imogenheap:

@solobasssteve was late from traffic, two stages louder than my own set sometimes, wrist mic broke, harmonizer didn’t like noise, midi down! 4:29 PM Apr 17th via Twitterrific in reply to solobasssteve

Jay Z.
10:50 PM. Friday

I spent the last week debating what show to see/skip at 10:00 PM. Jay Z vs. Deadmau5 is a tough decision to make. At the end of the day, I stuck with the group who had unanimously decided on Jay Z. A 10-minute countdown kicked off his dramatic performance, which mixed old and new favorites. He hit everything from Jackson 5 to Oasis before Beyonce surprised the crowd with “Forever Young”. A great performance overall but I felt it was a but contrived. Benny Benassi & Deadmau5, I’ll never skip you again, I promise.
