$ COACHELLA STYLE : 2010
There’s nothing I love more than dressing the part. I particularly have a thing for saris, body-paint and any form of headgear. But at Coachella, fashion is almost as important as the music - so I called in an expert.
Arielle Nachmani from Something Navy shares four fool-proof looks that even dorks like me can copy. They’re full of classic staples that work year, after year.
Now, if only I had those cheekbones….

(Dress: Jovovich Hawk, Boots: Vintage, Jewelry: Vintage)
“For this look, I felt like when you hear Coachella, you think bohemian, hippie-ish concert feel, but at the end of the day, we all want our feminine side to be shown as well, so I whipped out my go to white dress, extremely light, beyond simple, basically I can do whatever I want with it. In this case, I kept it feminine with the braid and the jewelry but added my vintage brown cowboy boots. It’s the perfect combination to endure lots of cocktails, the heat, and tiresome feet.”
(Shorts: Big Star, T-shirt: Vintage, Belt: Mens H&M,
“So I understand, Coachella = long hot day, standing majority of the time, but you’ll be dancing and drinking so will you really be concerned with how annoying your shoes are? No! Ok, well maybe. But, that’s why instead of heels, I vouched for the wedges. This outfit is my favorite actually, because it’s so easy, so cool, and you can still look sexy in it. A ripped up vintage t-shirt is always a great choice if you can’t find anything to wear and you want to be comfortable. I love grey and white, so I decided instead of regular denim shorts, I’d pair it with my white denim. I figured, again, to shift the outfit to a more girly feel, I’d add this thick black headband.”

(Dress: Scoop, Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell, Belt: Polo Ralph Lauren)
“I chose this dress because it was very bohemian and offered an array of bright colors. I loved that it had a little sparkle in it, and it automatically made me think of the silver lining on the bottom of my Jeffrey Campbell wedges. I know it’s a bit awkward usually to wear heels with long dresses but for some reason this just felt right to me! I’m a little cheesy with the pigtails but if I’ve got that bohemian feel I’m going to play it out all the way!”
(Boyfriend Shorts: H&M, Wife beater: Hanes, Belt: Prada, Shoes: Shoebox)
“I figured for my last look, I’d make it simple and easy, any girl can pack this and put this outfit together with things lying around in her closet. It’s the simple jean shorts and wife beater look. To make it a little less plain, and a little more interesting, I added this studded belt, snakeskin wedges, and feathered headband. I may get in trouble for doing all my outfits with heels, but that really is how I’d dress for Coachella! With an outfit like this, you can easily pair it with a cute pair of sandals, or sneakers (Supergas for me.)” - @arielle_noa
Sometimes it’s not just where you go, but what you wear…
