oundup of my favorite things this week… follow it, don’t judge it.

Hotel. Zamas Tulum.

Soak up a chill Caribbean vibe down the street from ancient Mayan monuments at this beachside resort. Laze the day away, sipping on lethal margaritas and swinging in colorful hammocks in open-air palapa-roofed cabanas. There’s eco-friendly touches like solar showers and a laid-back vibe which means shoes are optional. Hammocks, check. Hammocks, check. Hammocks…. check.

Find yourself by the sea at Zamas Tulum, on Jetsetter.com.

App.
EpicMix.

As if you needed a reason other than the sexy snow-boots and funny goggles to hit the slopes; a Colorado-based company has launched a genius app that allows visitors to track and share their whereabouts via a radio frequency enabled chip embedded in their lift tickets and season passes.

EpicMix rewards you for being adventurous (wait, you actually left the lodge?) and for physical activities (face-planting into the snowy terrain counts). Employees will be stationed at the resorts’ various lifts (there are 89 across its five resorts in Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Heavenly) just to scan and check you in. Vertical feet and routes taken will automatically be updated so your friends lounging by the fire can exercise vicariously through you.

It links to facebook, twitter, iPhone, andriod… the only thing it won’t do, is teach you how to ski. The app launches officially on opening day at Keystone Mountain on November 5.

Gear. @Flight 001.

Dopp kits styled after the golden era of aviation, TSA-friendly toiletry bottles, and minimalist garment bags are what Flight 001, New York (and the world’s) foremost purveyor of retro-tinged design-heavy all-weather travel gear, are known for.

Ok, I’ll admit it, I’m sort of obsessed with their retro-meets-modern blog too. For example, today they’re featuring a vintage Ukranian air sickness bag – it’s just really vital stuff we’re talking about here!

So grab the goodies on Gilt.com and check out the Blog… it’s fine, just say I sent you….
